Job summary

Sheridan is hiring a Manufacturing Associate for finishing/bindery with full-time daytime shifts in a hands-on, training-forward role. You’ll learn to operate high-speed bindery equipment and contribute to producing books and printed materials.

The job emphasizes safety, teamwork, and quality, with on-the-job training provided. We’re seeking reliable individuals who read instructions well, have basic math skills, and are eager to grow in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and documents such as work orders and safety rules.
• Basic math skills including adding and subtracting; ability to use a measuring device.
• Mechanical inclination and comfort with basic tools.
• Reliable team player with attention to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into the machine.
• Pack books into cartons.
• Safely move materials and books to and from the workstation.
• Perform hand operations as required.
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals.

What You’ll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you. We’re looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurementsTake pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
