The D.C Board of Elections is seeking individuals for a seasonal position where responsibilities include processing election-related mail and conducting quality assurance checks. The incumbent will support election operations by accurately handling and verifying mail, ensuring compliance with procedures.
Located in Washington, D.C., this role requires excellent listening and arithmetic skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Working hours are Monday to Friday with some evenings and weekends required, along with an extended shift on Election Day.
THIS POSITION IS BUDGETED FOR: $20.00 PER HOUR. THIS IS A SEASONAL (LESS THAN 6 MONTHS) POSITION.
This position is located in the District of Columbia Board of Elections (BOE), Office of the Executive Director, Mail Ballot Processing Division, whose mission is to enfranchise eligible residents, conduct elections, and assure the integrity of the electoral process as mandated by both federal and local laws. The BOE is expanding its mission to increase civic participation and provide citizens of the District of Columbia with vital information and data for the purpose of enhancing the voter experience. The incumbents will support critical election operations through the accurate handling, processing, and verification of election‑related mail.
Work is primarily sedentary and performed in the normal office setting, with occasional standing, walking, handling, and carrying of light to moderately heavy objects up to 50 lbs. No special physical demands are required.
First Screening: Wednesday, February 17, 2026. Collective Bargaining: This position is NOT under a collective bargaining agreement. Tour of Duty: Monday - Friday: 8:15A.M. – 4:45P.M. (Some evenings, weekends, and holidays are required). The incumbent will be required to work an extended shift on Election Day.
