Job summary

Qualifications

• NH RN license or compact state required; BCLS certified or within 30 days of hire; BSN strongly preferred; ACLS certified or within 1 year of hire.
• Demonstrates adherence to ANA standards and hospital policies; accurate medication and IV administration; proficient documentation.
• Mentors new staff, supports critical thinking, and conducts education sessions at least annually.
• Delegates appropriately, monitors utilization, and ensures safe clinical decisions.
• Performs comprehensive assessments, documents findings, and integrates best practice guidelines.
• Plans, prioritizes, and reorganizes care; coordinates with the multidisciplinary team.
• Evaluates outcomes and updates care plans; provides patient/family education.
• Invests in professional growth and can work across multiple units.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital policies, ANA standards of practice, and nursing ethics.
• Ensures safe, timely and accurate medication and IV administration and transcription.
• Uses information technology effectively and documents clearly and concisely.
• Develops clinical practice content and contributes to policy/procedure updates.
• Precepts new employees, supports learning needs, and provides case presentations.
• Delegates tasks according to licensure and experience, with appropriate follow-up.
• Performs physical assessments and history-taking on admission; ongoing reassessment.
• Prioritizes patient care needs, makes clinical decisions independently or collaboratively.
• Evaluates plan of care and modifies as needed based on patient outcomes.
• Educates patients and families; develops education materials; participates in community education.
• Pursues formal education to advance clinical skills and maintains certifications.
