Job summary

Exeter Hospital, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, seeks a Night Shift Registered Nurse to join a Magnet-recognized team on the Seacoast of New Hampshire. You'll care for patients across medical-surgical/ICU/PCU/ED with 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• RN license valid in NH or any compact state.
• BCLS certification or within 30 days of hire; ACLS certification or within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Practice Standards - Adheres to hospital policies, ANA standards of practice, and nursing code of ethics.
• Ensures safe, timely and accurate medication and IV administration and transcription.
• Successfully uses information technology.
• Documentation is accurate, timely, concise, and legible and adheres to departmental policy.
• Integrates policies and/or national practice guidelines into patient care planning to achieve desired patient care outcomes.
• Mentoring/Teaching - Precepts new employees - sets goals and assists the new employee in meeting those goals.
• Facilitates and encourages an environment for critical thinking.
• Makes 1-2 formal presentations to peers at least annually.
• Assists in meeting the learning and professional development needs of others.
• Delegation - Understands team members' roles and delegates tasks and responsibilities appropriate to licensure, education, and experience of the staff.
• Identifies patient priorities and discharge planning needs by utilizing assessment, 'best practice' standards, multidisciplinary team and patient input.
