Job summary

Allegheny General Hospital's MICU is seeking a dedicated RN to provide critical care to critically ill patients, applying the nursing process and patient-centered care.

This full-time role includes 72-hour biweekly shifts with rotating weekends and holidays, coordination with a multidisciplinary team, and strict adherence to HIPAA and safety policies. You will assess and plan care for adults, participate in rounds, educate patients and families, and ensure accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance
• Current State of PA RN licensure or Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
• CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning.
• Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements.
• Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
