OPPORTUNITY VILLAGE is seeking an entry-level Magical Forest Associate for OAKEY Campus in Las Vegas. You will operate the point-of-sale system, manage concessions, rides, and merchandise, and guide guests through park attractions during the seasonal August 2026–January 2027 period.

The role requires high school diploma and at least one year in amusement, retail, or related work. Evening and weekend hours apply; on-call banquet work may occur outside peak hours.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of verifiable amusement/retail experience.
  • Preferred: experience with developmentally disabled individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Inform guests about park attractions, facilities, rides and rules.
  • Operate POS equipment in box office, concessions, midway and booths; train volunteers.
  • Scan tickets/vouchers and assist with guest greeting and guidance.
  • Assist guests with safe entry/exit of rides and carousel mounts.
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests and volunteers.
  • Know emergency evacuation and ride shutdown procedures and assist as needed.
  • Clean equipment, rides, booths and concession areas nightly.
  • Maintain an orderly, clean work area per safety rules.
  • Report maintenance needs to the Special Events Manager.
  • Possible on-call banquet work outside HallOVeen/Magical Forest hours.

Under the direction of the Special Events Manager, the Magical Forest Associate is responsible for performing a variety of duties in a retail-type amusement park environment. The incumbent will operate the point-of-sale system and equipment, amusement and food concessions, and rides, and perform general responsibilities involving the physical handling of products, materials, supplies, credit cards, and currency.

There are evening hours and weekend responsibilities with this position that may require extended hours.

This is a seasonal position from approximately August 2026 to January 2027, supporting the Magical Forest and other seasonal events held by Opportunity Village.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide information about park attractions, facilities, rides, entertainment options, and rules or regulations of the Magical Forest to both guests and volunteers.
  • Understand and accurately operate point-of-sale equipment in the box office, food concessions, midway, and merchandise booths, as well as train selected nightly volunteers with the procedures and the operation of cashless point-of-sale equipment, the selling of food or merchandise, and the operation of midway games, including awarding the proper prizes, as needed.
  • Understand and accurately operate ticket and voucher scanning equipment, as well as train selected nightly park entrance volunteers to properly greet and welcome guests, scan, verify, collect, or validate different ticket types, and distribute park maps, goody bags, vouchers, informational flyers, or wristbands, as needed.
  • Provide guests and volunteers with information and assistance regarding safely entering or exiting rides or mounting or dismounting carousel animals.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons.
  • Be knowledgeable of park emergency evacuation and ride shutdown procedures and assist with these procedures, if a situation arises.
  • Clean equipment, rides, booths, and concession areas at the end of each night.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area in compliance with company safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Report any maintenance or items in need of repair to the Special Events Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately, as mandated by state law.
  • Potential for on-call banquet work outside of HallOVeen and Magical Forest operating hours. Banquet work includes, but is not limited to, serving, check-in registration, setup and teardown before or after the event.
  • May be assigned other duties as needed.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist and train volunteers assigned to areas of HallOVeen and the Magical Forest, if requested.

  • Must have a working knowledge of the Southern Nevada Health District policies and procedures.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Required: One (1) year of verifiable work experience in an amusement or theme park, retail, or related work environment.
  • Preferred: Prior experience with developmentally disabled individuals.
  • If requested: Ability to obtain Southern Nevada Food Handlers Safety Training Card.
