Job summary

Caribbean Global School in Puerto Rico seeks a dedicated Music Teacher to guide students from 6th through 12th grade in instrument study, music theory and appreciation.

This role emphasizes IB World School curriculum integration, collaboration with humanities and arts colleagues, and the creation of engaging lesson plans using technology to enhance learning.

A bachelor’s degree in education, humanities or music is required; a master’s degree and teaching certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Preferably, a Master’s degree in Education, Music, or a related area.
• Valid teaching certification or license to teach at the secondary education level, according to local regulations.
• Specific certification may be required or preferred.
• Previous experience teaching Music, ideally in a school setting.
• Experience in planning and executing lesson plans; experience in IB curriculum preferred.
• Familiarity with educational standards and the curriculum for Music.
• Experience using educational resources and technologies to enhance learning.

About the role

• We are a team who gives importance and relevance to humanities, collaborating in interdisciplinary projects combining arts, music, history and other humanities asignatures. Our school is currently working with IB World School curriculum; the Music Teacher should be able to work with Music as a core subject and as an elective.

What you'll do

• At Caribbean Global School you will have the opportunity to work with students interested in learning to play instruments as well as in music appreciation and theory. The Music Teacher position is open to someone who can work with students from various age ranges, from 6th to 12th grade.
