Job summary

Madison Academy is seeking a passionate GSRP Lead Teacher to join our team in Flint, Michigan. The Lead Teacher will plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, research-based curriculum aligned with GSRP standards and support four-year-olds preparing for kindergarten.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in ECE or related field with Michigan certification and demonstrates strong organizational and collaborative skills to engage families and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
• Michigan Teaching Certificate with ZA/ZS endorsement.
• Experience with preschool-age children in a classroom.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement daily lesson plans using the Creative Curriculum.
• Conduct child observations and assessments with TS Gold or approved tools.
• Maintain portfolios and documentation to inform instruction.
• Foster family relationships through regular communication and home visits.
• Collaborate with the associate teacher, early childhood specialist, and other team members to support children’s development.
• Ensure compliance with all GSRP requirements and licensing regulations.
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that supports social-emotional and academic development.

Position Summary

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development OR a bachelor’s degree in a related field with a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate and a ZA/ZS endorsement.
• Meets GSRP Lead Teacher qualifications as defined by the Michigan Department of Education.
• Experience working with preschool-age children in a classroom setting.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred

• Knowledge and experience with the Creative Curriculum & TS Gold.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
