Qualifications

• Rising senior pursuing a bachelor's degree with strong academic record.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.

• Ability to read, write, and interpret reports and procedures.
• Strong retail math and data analysis to drive recommendations.
• Advanced Excel skills with Pivot Tables and lookup functions.

Job Overview

The Loyalty Intern will support the evolution of Macy's Star Rewards program by helping develop go-to-market strategies, launch new customer benefits, and analyze program performance. This role provides the opportunity to work across multiple areas of the business to deliver engaging loyalty experiences for customers. Macy's summer internship program provides interns with a hands-on and in-depth understanding of a core business function in retail. Interns have opportunities to directly impact the business as a key part of a team and by sharing new ideas. Macy's interns experience everything our culture has to offer through exposure to senior leaders and networking opportunities. This 8-week internship program will be held in Macy's New York, New York Corporate offices.

What You Will Do

• Support the development of go-to-market strategies for new Star Rewards benefits and customer experiences across stores, digital, app, and marketing channels.
• Collaborate with Loyalty, Stores, Digital, Technology, Marketing, Legal, and Data & Analytics teams to support program launches and organizational readiness.
• Assist with launch planning, customer communications, benefit journeys, and operational requirements.
• Analyze loyalty program , campaign , and business performance data to uncover key insights and support decision-making.
• Conduct customer, market, and competitive research to identify opportunities for program enhancements.
• Support execution and measurement of loyalty and credit marketing initiatives.
• Help identify opportunities to improve customer engagement and loyalty experiences.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Junior standing (rising senior at the time of the internship) pursuing a bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling, presentation, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.
• Strong retail math, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze sales, gross margin, inventory productivity, sell-through, and other key retail performance metrics; identify trends; and translate data into actionable business recommendations.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis techniques; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Basic understanding of financial performance metrics, profitability concepts, statistical analysis, and assortment planning.
• Ability to independently organize and prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
