Job summary

Point72 is seeking a Macro Analyst for its Market Intelligence team in the United States. You will work with alternative data to provide macro context and insights for rates and FX markets, partnering with data scientists and engineers to deliver synthesized analyses to investment professionals.

The role emphasizes collaboration across Data Sourcing, Data Science, Data Engineering and Compliance to source, evaluate, and translate data into actionable research for investment teams.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or advanced degree with demonstrated academic success.
• 1–5 years of macro/economics/investment research or consulting experience.
• Proficiency with SQL and Python; able to participate in a live technical screen.
• Experience modelling and analysing time series data in macroeconomic or quantitative research.
• Interest in finance, research, and using data to solve problems.
• Ability to explain concepts to non-technical partners; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze alternative data sources to build macro insights and subject-matter expertise for rates and FX markets.
• Produce research for internal investment professionals across reports, verbal briefings, data feeds, and visualizations.
• Interact with investment professionals to learn macro investment processes and inform decisions.
• Collaborate with Data Sourcing, Data Science, Data Engineering and Compliance to source and evaluate data assets.
