Job summary

Acushnet Company in New Bedford, MA is seeking a skilled Machinist/Welder to support high-performance golf ball manufacturing operations. You will independently set up and operate lathes, Bridgeport mills, Proto TRAK systems, grinders, and drills, and also run sheet metal brake/shear and welding equipment.

The role requires vocational training and 3+ years machinist experience along with 2+ years welding experience, using arc/MIG/TIG/heliarc methods. Candidates must have their own trade tools.

Qualifications

• Vocational school graduate in Machine Shop or Machine and Tool Technology.
• 3+ years Machinist experience.
• 2+ years welding experience (arc, mig, tig, heliarc).
• Fabricating parts using lathe and milling machine.
• Tools of the trade: calipers, vernier, micrometer.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of mechanical production equipment.
• Own trade tools to perform tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine shop equipment including lathes and mills.
• Operate sheet metal brake, shear, and welding equipment (arc, MIG, TIG, heliarc).
