Job summary

Acushnet Company is seeking a skilled Machinist/Welder to support high-performance golf ball manufacturing in New Bedford, MA. You will set up and operate machine shop equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and welding equipment, and contribute to fabrication of parts with precision tooling.

Requirements include 3+ years in machining, 2+ years welding (arc, MIG, TIG, Heliarc), and owning trade tools. Competitive pay range is posted and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Vocational school in Machine Shop or Machine and Tool Technology or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years of Machinist experience is required.
• 2+ years welding experience using arc, mig, tig and Heliarc welders is required.
• Must have experience fabricating parts using a lathe and milling machine.
• Must have experience using calipers, vernier and micrometer.
• Should communicate well and have interpersonal skills.
• Should have analytical and problem solving skills.
• Should have thorough knowledge of mechanical related production equipment.
• Must own trade tools to perform tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine shop equipment including lathes, Bridgeport mills, proto TRAKS, grinders, belt sanders, and drill presses.
• Set up and operate a sheet metal brake, shear, and welding equipment (arc, MIG, TIG, Heliarc).
• Support high-performance golf ball manufacturing operations in a hands-on role.
