Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in tool room or similar machining environment.
• Experience reading engineered drawings and GD&T specifications.
• Experience repairing dies, tooling and fixtures to support production.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex dies, stamping tooling, spring coiling tooling, and secondary fixtures.
• Set up and operate traditional tool room equipment including manual lathes, Bridgeport mills, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and drill presses.
• Inspect tooling for wear or damage and identify root causes of tool failure or non-conformance.
• Read and interpret engineered drawings, GD&T specifications, and sketches.
• Verify precise dimensions using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and indicators.
• Perform routine polishing, sharpening, clearance adjustments, and preventive maintenance on tooling.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex progressive dies, stamping tooling, spring coiling tooling, and secondary fixtures.
• Set up and operate traditional tool room equipment—including manual lathes, Bridgeport mills, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and drill presses
• Inspect worn or damaged tooling directly or collaborate with press operators and quality inspectors to identify root causes of tool failure or part non-conformance.
• Read and interpret engineered drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications, and sketches.
• Verify precise dimensions using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and indicators.
• Routine polish, sharpening (die sharpening/grinding), clearance adjustment, and preventive maintenance on active tooling inventories
