Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Machinist Technician in Indiana to support fabrication processes and assist operators, including loading robots and ensuring area cleanliness. The role involves removing burrs, welding spatter, and performing final inspections before painting, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Relocation is not available. Training is on first shift for up to 2 months before moving to hired shift. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, PTO, 401(k), HSA, FSAs, and more.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive operations.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Blueprint reading experience.
• Ability to work as part of a team and undergo cross-training.
• Effective communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Plex system to determine product and procedure accuracy.
• Provide support to operators.
• Remove sharp edges/weld spatter from the entire part with hand tools and pneumatic grinders/buffers.
• Perform final quality inspection of parts prior to painting processes.
• Prepare part for transport to other departments.
• Daily inspection of equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
