Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Machinist Technician in Tennessee to provide fabrication support, load robots, and ensure area cleanliness. The role uses hand and power tools to remove burrs and slag from machined parts, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

Training on first shift for up to two months precedes a hired shift. Responsibilities include assisting operators, controlling quality at various stages, and preparing parts for transport, with daily equipment checks to maintain safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive operations.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Plex system to determine product and procedure accuracy.
• Provide support to operators.
• Remove sharp edges/weld spatter from the entire part with hand tools and pneumatic grinders/buffers.
• Perform final quality inspection of parts prior to painting processes.
• Prepare part for transport to other departments.
• Daily inspection of equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.

*Relocation is not available for this position.

All training will be on 1st shift for up to 2 months before moving to hired shift.

Summary Pay Range:

$20.10 - $26.10
