Job Details

• Location: Ogden UT 84404
• Shift Timing: 2nd shift (Mon-Thurs 3pm to 1:30am) & Weekend shift (Fri-Sun 5am to 5pm)
• Duration: Direct Hire

Position Overview

Client seeks skilled CNC machinists with experience in operating CNC machines and producing precision parts.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various conventional and CNC machining centers on complex jobs, working from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Contribute to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.
• Work independently with minimal guidance in a team environment.
• Handle multiple machines simultaneously, adapting tooling as needed.
• Interpret customer requirements from blueprints and engineering specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve errors and suggest design improvements.
• Develop manufacturing methods and assist with tooling design.
• Perform complex setups, including multiple workpiece stations.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and conformance using precision measuring tools.
• Maintain equipment and perform statistical process control (SPC).
• Apply advanced shop mathematics and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train and mentor less experienced team members.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of machining experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and complex drawings.
• Knowledge of advanced shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
• Strong communication skills and team orientation.
• Possibly require division-specific certification (e.g., certified operator).
• Ability to implement lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience with job-specific software and self-service systems.
