Description

Curriculum must comply with MCTC’s CNC Machinist program. Actual courses will be negotiated between the employee and Stober Drives Inc, depending on course availability. If the employee has already completed a course successfully, they will receive credit and will not need to retake it.

Position Summary

The employee performs setup, inspection, and production duties on CNC Machine Tools aligned with production schedules and business needs. The role includes attending MCTC part-time as stipulated.

Job Duties:

• Program, set up, and operate various machine tools.
• Perform quality inspections as required.
• Update order status through computer transactions and paperwork.
• Maintain housekeeping duties.
• Coordinate daily tasks with team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Upon completion of 48 hours and OJT, the employee should have:

• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to create conversational CNC programs.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
• Ability to select and apply various cutting tools.
• Mechanical skills and familiarity with hand tools.
• Ability to work from written instructions.
• Quality-focused with the ability to inspect own work.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

We reserve the right to hire a qualified machinist as an alternative to the apprentice position.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Mechanical experience or machine shop metrology is a plus but not required.
• Strong interest in quality procedures and processes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
