Job summary

Cirrus Aircraft is seeking a Machinist Operator to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, loading materials and adjusting tools to meet drawing requirements. You will inspect parts against drawings, document deviations, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Responsibilities include deburring with hand/power tools, monitoring fluids, and recording manufacturing data. Strong attention to detail and reliable attendance are essential in this role.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-year Machinist vocational program or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to safely operate machine shop equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and time-management abilities.
  • Regular attendance and reliability.

Overview

Machinist Operators operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments out of metal, plastic or other materials. Operators will load materials into the machine tools for production. Must be able to safely use all machine shop equipment. They will inspect parts for quality and drawing conformity. Applies knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. A Machinist Operator works under moderate supervision and is gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.

  • 2 year degree from a Machinist vocational program and 0-2 years experience required or equivalent education and experience required

  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to effectively manage stress, including competing work demands and multiple projects at the same time

  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Must be able to safely use all machine shop equipment

  • Applied knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures
