Qualifications

• Construct and repair production machines and parts from prints or sketches.
• Select, set up, and operate metalworking machines with precision measuring tools.
• Machining parts from prints or sketches and performing emergency tooling as needed.
• Gauging and bearing disassembly not involving standard assembly equipment.
• Journeymen will train other journeymen and apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Receive assignments and secure drawings or prints for reference.
• Remove defective parts and disassemble machines for overhauls as needed.
• Repair/replace internal components of Heat Treat Furnace equipment and related systems.
• Determine repair scope and decide whether to repair or replace parts.
• Set up tools and fixtures to machine new or repaired parts per specs.
• Form, sharpen, and set up tools for machining duties.
• Measure work to tolerances using gauges and instruments.
• Reassemble and test machine after repairs to verify performance.
• Collaborate with engineers and operators to adjust speeds/feeds.
