Job summary

Engineering Resource Group in Ramsey, NJ is seeking a Machinist to fabricate, modify and repair precision parts in a manufacturing environment. You will set up and operate milling machines, lathes and grinders to produce components and inspect parts to drawings while maintaining tight tolerances.

This role requires at least 1 year of machinist experience, reading mechanical drawings, and proficiency with micrometers, calipers and indicators.

Qualifications

• Fabricate and modify components to build or repair machine tools and production equipment.
• Perform mechanical maintenance and repair on industrial machinery.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop machining processes and setups for new jobs.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measurement instruments.
• Support machine shop and production floor tasks as required.
• Responsible for machine shop organization and housekeeping.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 yeas of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
• Experience with setup and operation of milling machines, lathes and grinders, including associated tooling.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators) and the ability to hold tight tolerances.
• Working knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, squat and kneel throughout the shift.
• Technical school or machinist apprenticeship a plus.
