ARCH Medical Solutions in Bartlett, TN seeks an Experienced Machinist with prototype experience to create precision prototypes of medical device components. You will set up CNC mills and lathes, interpret complex drawings, and develop CAM programs to achieve tight tolerances.

Work with engineers to ensure manufacturability, inspect parts with precision instruments, and maintain documentation while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in CNC machining, with a focus on prototype development and precision machining.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation of both manual and CNC machine tools.
  • Experience reading complex engineering drawings and models.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines to produce precision prototype parts.
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and models for prototype development.
  • Develop and adjust CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam) to achieve required geometries and tolerances.
  • Inspect machined parts with micrometers, calipers, and CMM to ensure adherence to specs.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, implement improvements, and optimize prototype accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to assess manufacturability and design feasibility.

Looking for Experienced Machinist (with Prototype Experience)

Job Summary:

Responsible for creating precision prototypes of new medical device components. This role requires a high level of skill in machining, the ability to work from complex engineering drawings, and the flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines, to produce precision prototype parts.
  • Work closely with engineers and designers to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and models for prototype development.
  • Quickly develop and adjust CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam) to achieve desired part geometries and tolerances.
  • Perform detailed inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMM) to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, make necessary adjustments, and implement improvements to enhance prototype accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide feedback on design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Document machining processes, setup instructions, and program modifications for future reference.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality control procedures, and regulatory requirements applicable to medical device manufacturing.
