Job summary

A&D Industrial & Marine Repair in Port Reading, NJ is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team in a hands-on, precision-driven role inside a fast-paced shop environment.

You will set up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses, read blueprints, and fabricate/ modify metal parts for industrial and marine applications, while maintaining strict tolerances and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as Manual Machinist in industrial/marine/heavy equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with manual lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Strong knowledge of metals, tolerances, and machining techniques.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications
• Fabricate, repair, and modify metal parts and components for industrial and marine applications
• Measure and inspect finished parts using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on manual machinery to ensure optimal performance
• Collaborate with shop supervisors and technicians to meet project deadlines and quality standards
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with shop safety protocols
