Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a machinist or machine operator.
• Extensive knowledge of machine operations and basic maintenance.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Understanding of GD&T principles.
• Hands-on experience with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Machinist apprenticeship or equivalent is a plus; NTMA certification is a plus.

Job Details

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Machinist & Machine Operator for a permanent position in our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and tooling, with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of technical drawings and precision measurement tools. This role requires an individual with a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high levels of quality and efficiency in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and processes.
• Operating and maintaining various types of machining equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses.
• Utilizing micrometers, calipers, and gauges to take precise measurements and ensure products meet exact specifications.
• Setting up, adjusting, and calibrating all types of machine tools and equipment.
• Using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to inspect and validate parts and assemblies.
• Performing routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting to diagnose and correct machine malfunctions.
• Fabricating and modifying parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
• Collaborating with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.

Qualifications

• Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent is a plus
• Certification from the NTMA is a plus.
