Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) is seeking a Level 3 Machinist in Ontario, CA to operate multiple 2–5 axis CNC lathe machines, set up fixtures and cutting tools, load programs and offsets, and perform inspections.
You will maintain coolant and lube, ensure area cleanliness, read prints, and apply GD&T, G and M codes. Requires high school diploma and 5+ years of machinist experience; aerospace experience preferred. Competitive pay $25–$35/hr plus benefits.
Wyman-Gordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. We hold quality accreditations for all major airframe and engine manufacturers for both civil and military applications. Wyman-Gordon creates rotating closed‑die forgings which are critical for aerospace and land‑based gas turbines. Located in Ontario, CA, Summit Machine, LLC specializes in the rough and finish machining of super alloys for the aerospace, commercial, defense, power, and petroleum industries. Complex components include nickel base, titanium, stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steels with parts ranging in size from 2" OD to 120" OD.
The position may support 1st shift (4:15 am – 12:45 pm, M – F), 2nd shift (12:15 pm – 8:45 pm, M – F), 3rd shift (8:15 pm – 4:45 am, Su – Th), or a split shift depending on business needs. The selected individual may train on 1st shift for approximately 3 months, or until able to demonstrate an ability to perform the job with minimal intervention. Shift premiums will apply upon schedule change if applicable.
The Level 3 Machinist operates multiple 2‑5 axis CNC lathe machines simultaneously, which requires machine setup including preparing and setting up fixtures and cutting tools, loading and adjusting CNC programs and offsets, performing inspections, and basic preventative machine maintenance such as coolant and lube levels and area cleanliness. Competencies include the ability to use more advanced quality inspection tools and techniques, intermediate‑advanced print reading, experience with common CNC G and M codes, and a basic understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerance).
For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $25.00 to $35.00 USD hourly based on a variety of factors.
Employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter.
