Job summary

Sun Technologies seeks a Machinist Level 2 to join our on-site machine shop in Goleta (with possible Oxnard travel). The role supports a fast-paced environment, setting up, operating manual and CNC mills and lathes, interpreting drawings, and ensuring part quality.

6-month contract with extension potential, pay range $28–$32 per hour, ACA-compliant medical, 401(k), and sick leave benefits. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of machining experience, familiarity with Mastercam/CAMWorks, and

Qualifications

• Familiarity with CNC Mills and machine programming software (Mastercam/CAMworks).
• Experience running manual machines and performing set-ups.
• Able to read production specs and technical drawings in English.
• 3+ years machining experience and ability to work from schematics.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates manual and CNC lathes and mills to produce parts.
• Interprets blueprints, sketches, and specs to determine setup and methods.
• Performs in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Maintains equipment, tooling readiness, and a clean, safe workspace.
• Provides training on Mill/Lathe operations and setup when needed.
