Job summary

PCB Piezotronics in the United States seeks a Machinist IV to work from drawings and written instructions, set up and operate a variety of manual or CNC machinery to produce precision parts.

You will verify conformance to tolerances, troubleshoot programs, and train shop staff. The role requires advanced machining skills and strong problem solving with micrometers and high-end inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Operates multiple machines at multiple work centers and performs specific machinist functions.
• Set up and troubleshoot machines at multiple work centers.
• Proof out new part programs for production. Collaborate with programming/engineering on blueprints and programs.
• Provide instruction, training and leadership to employees in other positions within the Machine Shop.
• Verify conformance of finished work to ensure compliance to tolerance and company specifications.
• Identify dull or worn inserts or tools and make changes as necessary.
• Make tool offsets as required.
• Complete preventative maintenance as required.
• Regularly use microscope and other high end measuring equipment to view and inspect parts.
• Perform other related duties as directed.

Major Areas of Accountability

1. Operates multiple machines at multiple work centers and performs specific machinist functions. Must be able to set up and troubleshoot machines at multiple work centers.

1. Ability to prove out new part programs for production. Collaborate with programming/engineering on blueprints and programs.

1. Provides instruction, training and leadership to employees in other positions within the Machine Shop.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• High school graduate; or
• GED; or
• BOCES Machine Shop classes; or
• Skilled trade school graduate

Experience

• 3 years of machine shop experience
• Advanced shop math skills
• Advanced blueprint reading skills
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience of CNC/ Manual machines
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
• Demonstrated experience in order of operations

• 8 years of machine shop experience
