Job summary

CIRCOR International, Inc. seeks a skilled machinist/operator to finish grind rotor threads, drill axial holes, and grind end faces on idlers. You will inspect, deburr, and assemble parts per drawings with attention to precision and safety.

Responsibilities include using precision measuring equipment, lifting and moving parts, and operating multiple machines as required. A high school diploma and machining experience are preferred.

Job description

Position Summary

• Finish grind threads on all rotors to size, index, form, and finish as required.
• Drill axial hole, cutoff, and counterbore as needed.
• Grind end faces on idlers.

Basic Function

• With own judgement and minimal direction from others, produce a quality ground rotor in a safe and efficient manner.
• Grind threads on all rotors and inspect sizes, index, form, lead, finish, etc.
• Deburr all sharp edges as needed.
• Check pump parts for burrs and fits.
• Assemble per assembly drawing.
• Test per specifications.

Equipment and Typical Parts

• Operate one, two, or more machines including NCTG, CFG, cutoff, test stands, DHD, etc.
• Use precision measuring equipment (micrometer, dial caliper, profilometers, lead checker, gauge gauges, master, etc.) to inspect rotors.
• Operate electric or air‑powered crane/forklift.

Essential Physical Tasks

• Lift, pull, or push parts continuously while walking or moving to up to five machines; load and unload parts up to 40 pounds.
• Deburr using a file or other hand tool such as a die grinder.
• Clean parts and centers of chips, then wipe dry.
• Lift and check all dimensions machined to conform with finish drawing.
• Adjust machine as needed to produce quality parts within specifications and per-pc standards.
• Utilize a multi‑function electric or air crane (where available) to lift, move, load, or unload parts to perform work‑center functions.
• Step up to and down from an elevated work platform and onto various parts of the machine for wheel change, tool change, and cleaning.

Candidate Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Machining trade school preferred and one to three years machining experience preferred.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Use of advanced trade mathematics, reading complicated drawings, specifications, charts, etc. preferred.
