Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking skilled machinists for on-site production work in Burnsville, MN. The role involves operating manual mills and lathes to produce routine and custom parts, with readiness to read specs, set up machines, and calibrate for tight tolerances.

You will collaborate with engineering to optimize processes, inspect finished parts, and maintain safe, quality-focused operations on a 2nd shift schedule with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with technical education in related discipline and with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of manual Mill/Lathe experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Production Machining of routine and custom products using manual mills and lathes.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals to perform set ups and production processes.
• Calibrate machines to perform operations within its capability by positioning, aligning, securing work, utilizing and adapting appropriate tools.
• Use analytical skills to formulate machine adjustments and perform the machining process.
• Collaborating with engineering teams to optimize production processes and resolve and develop unique solutions.
• Inspect and certify your work product.
