Job summary

Sargent Aerospace is seeking a skilled Machinist III to join our Tucson, AZ manufacturing team. The role involves CNC and manual milling and turning, fixturing, inspection, and continuous improvement in a safety‑driven environment.

You will design fixtures for first‑run parts, program or edit CNC codes, read blueprints, and mentor Level I/II machinists while collaborating across departments to meet production goals and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Basic shop math and geometry; GD&T and inspection skills required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with CAD/CAM and CNC editing is required.

Position Summary
This position supports operational excellence in the machining processes to drive productivity, quality and continuous improvement. We expect this individual to be a leader who collaborates with the Sargent team to exceed organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-8 years’ experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Application of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics (algebra, geometry and trigonometry).
• Advanced measurement skills including GD&T, CMM and optical comparator.
• Knowledge of tooling capabilities (speeds/feeds and insert grades).
• Must be proficient in G and M codes and editing CNC programs to set up and run complex parts with the understanding of CAD/CAM.
• Ability to read, interpret technical drawings, routers, work instructions and specifications.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and multi-tasking abilities.
• Ability and willingness to train Level I and II machinists.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen,
• Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Lathe and/or Mill experience preferred.
• Master Cam preferred.
• Ability to setup and run EDM is a plus.
