Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking a Machinist III to support manufacturing and tooling operations. This role operates machine tools, performs tooling and mold maintenance, reads blueprints, makes adjustments, and produces components to tight tolerances in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating CNC Swiss machines, performing quality checks, participating in continuous improvement, and maintaining tooling.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of CNC machining set-up and operating experience in a job shop environment.
  • High school education plus Vo-Tech training in machine tool technology or equivalent.
  • Very strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Sets-up, operates, and verifies the quality of work on at least one CNC Swiss machine with close tolerances.
  • Performs routine operations that meet quality and production standards.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities and supports tooling maintenance.
  • Monitors program variations and makes necessary corrections.
  • Performs part program prove-outs and assists with new work.

Job Overview

TE Connectivity is seeking a Machinist III to support manufacturing and tooling operations. This position is responsible for operating machine tools, performing tooling and mold maintenance activities, reading blueprints and tooling prints, making machine adjustments, and producing components to precise tolerances. The role also supports preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Sets-up, operates, and verifies the quality of work on at least one of CNC Swiss machinesinvolving close tolerances and difficult set-ups.
  • Performs routine or repetitive operations in a manner which will consistently meet qualityrequirements and production standards.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement activities
  • Performs repeat set-ups without supervision. May perform more complex set-ups with supervision.
  • Monitors variations in program sequence, e.g., positioning, cycle time, etc., and makes necessary corrections.
  • Assists with the prove-out of part programs for new work or critical variations.
  • Works from drawings and/or specifications as well as Traveler instructions.
  • Troubleshoots routine jobs without supervision and more complex jobs with supervision.
  • Runs production and deburr’s parts as required.
  • Evaluates production job performance compared to established production and quality standards, makes improvements to processes to enhance operations. Makes suggestionsfor engineering process improvements.
  • Maintains required tooling, as needed, to manufacture parts to specifications.
  • Conducts quality checks through the use of fixed or adjustable precision measuring devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans machines as necessary.
  • Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition. Works safely, and complies with allestablished safety rules and work practices.
  • Complies with Company, Department, and quality policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Keeps Operations Manager informed of job related problems and other information related to work activity.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and promotes a “team” approach throughout the Department.
  • Performs multiple operations as required.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
What your background should look like
  • High school education or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of Vo-Tech training in machinetool technology or a related area or equivalent.
  • 2 to 5 years of CNC machining set-up and operating experience in a job shop environment.
  • Very strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.

COMPENSATION
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $57,400 – 86,100 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
