Job description

COMPANY OVERVIEW: Turbine Controls MRO, a VSE Aviation Company (“TC MRO”) is a globally recognized maintenance, repair and overhaul facility with over 180 employees and more than 45 years of expertise in engine component and accessory repair services. Our locations in Bloomfield, Connecticut and Miramar, Florida service original equipment manufacturers, airlines, engine centers, asset managers and government agencies supporting components and LRU's for commercial, military, airframe and industrial applications. SUMMARY: The Machinist III is responsible for fabricating, repairing, and modifying aviation accessories using advanced machining techniques articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills, lathes, or hones machining equipment, to repair parts to required specifications.
  • Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.
  • Document maintenance and repair work performed in accordance with FAA and company requirements.
  • Inspect work completed on aviation components to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges daily.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of shop supplies and tooling to support daily operations.
  • Ensure up-to-date knowledge and safe operation of all tools and equipment within assigned work areas.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering to resolve non-conformances.
  • Adhere to FAA Part 145 Repair Station standards and all company safety protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7 years of machinist experience
  • OR Bachelor’s degree or Technical degree (A&P) in lieu of 3 years of experience
  • Strong understanding of aircraft accessories and machining requirements.
  • Proficient and skilled in using precision measurement instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Flexible to changing workloads/priorities based on customer requirements.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high level of accuracy and quality.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of machinist experience
  • MRO experience
