Job summary

Illinois Tool Works in Alabama is seeking a Machinist or Senior Machinist to produce parts requiring programming, complex tooling and setups while meeting quality, productivity and safety standards.

The standard schedule is day shift, 4 days, 10 hours. Responsibilities include planning own work, inspecting own work, understanding GD&T tolerances and promoting continuous improvement within the department. Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and run is required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Technical School graduate preferred.
• Minimum 4 years' of experience in similar machine shop setting.

• Regular and consistent attendance.
• Good communication skills.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Technical School graduate preferred or;
• Minimum 4 years' of experience in similar machine shop setting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Standing 10 hours per day (out of 10 hour workday) but may work 10-12 hours per day.
• Walk up to 2 hours per day
• Bend, squat (to check parts) - occasionally
• Crawl- rarely
• Reach out from body up to 24 inches holding up to 20 pounds - rarely
• Hand grasping – continuously
• Finger manipulation - frequently
• Push up to 35 lbs. Force (carts, pallet jack)
• Carry up to 35 lbs. (parts and tools) 20 feet - occasionally, 100 feet - rarely
• Lift at waist level up to 24 lbs. frequently/up to 50 lbs. - occasionally
• Lift to/from floor level (parts) 50 lbs.- occasionally

Compensation Information:

Machinist 20-26 per hour depending on experience
