Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Machinist II (Trainee) to join our team at our Bloomfield, Connecticut location for first shift. First shift hours are 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with one hour of mandatory daily overtime due to business needs.

Our products are used in space, aviation, marine, hydropower, and other industrial applications. As an industry leader, we design, test, and manufacture high-performing, self-lubricating, roller element, metal-to-metal, and miniature bearings.


Responsibilities:


  1. Under close technical supervision, set up, operate, and adjust CNC machine tools to perform standard and repetitive operations, including drilling, honing, boring, milling, turning, and screw machine operations, using provided programs.
  2. Check parts for conformance to specifications.
  3. Perform all responsibilities within productivity and quality expectations, following work procedures.
  4. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, follow safety and environmental regulations, and report safety incidents.
  5. Recommend improvements to work processes and contribute to the 5S program in the work area.
  6. Provide high-quality service to internal and external customers and promote positive teamwork.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned, participate in learning other positions, and accomplish related results as needed.

Requirements/Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Machining certification from an accredited program.
  • At least 6 months of machining experience or equivalent.

Skills:


  • Strong mechanical aptitude and exposure to machining processes and shop mathematics.
  • Basic understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and commitment to completing assigned shifts.
  • Strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements:


  • Lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Constant standing, frequent bending, twisting, and grasping.
  • High mental and visual attention.
  • Frequent walking and occasional sitting.
