We are searching for a dynamic and motivated Machinist II (Trainee) to join our team at our Bloomfield, Connecticut location for first shift. First shift hours are 6:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday, as business needs currently dictate one hour of mandatory daily overtime.

Our products are used in space, aviation, marine, hydropower and other industrial applications. As an industry leader, we design, test, and manufacture the highest performing, self-lubricating, roller element, metal to metal and miniature bearings in the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Under close technical supervision, set up, operate, and adjust computer numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations where programs are provided. Operations include drilling, honing, boring, milling and turning, screw machine operation, etc., on routine and repetitive operations.
• Check parts for conformance to specifications.
• Perform all responsibilities within productivity and quality expectations. Follow work procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety incidents to supervisor.
• Make recommendations for improvements to work processes. Contribute to 5S program in work area.
• Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contribute to a positive teamwork environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in learning other positions. Accomplish related results as needed.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Education:
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Machining Certification from an accredited school or program.
• Experience:
  • 6 months of machining experience or equivalent.
• Skills:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with exposure to machining process and shop mathematics.
  • Basic understanding of blueprint and GD&T reading.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Dependable; come to work on time and stay for the shift to complete work as assigned.
  • Strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Frequent bending, twisting, and grasping items/tools.
• Frequent mental and visual attention.
• Constant standing and frequent walking.
• Occasional sitting.
