POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6AM – 2:30PM) Machinist II-Punch Press based in Indianapolis, IN. The Machinist II-Punch Press is responsible for performing machine setups, tool changes, operating the Punch Press, and making adjustments as necessary.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $18.56/hr - $27.00/hr plus mandatory overtime as needed. Salary will be determined based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and market data. This position includes a competitive benefits package. WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Follow operation instructions; operate machine according to standard operating procedures.
• Monitor and maintain equipment safely; load stock and empty scrap hoppers with fork trucks.
• Document and inspect quality of work per Quality Assurance Inspection Procedure (QAIP).
• Load setup automatic and transfer equipment into presses.
• Use micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and comparators.

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of shop math & blueprint reading; comprehension of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
• Ability to perform advanced quality inspections.
• Professional communication skills.
• Mechanical inclination to make machine adjustments.

• SAP or Enterprise system knowledge.
• Understanding of similar quality control concepts.
• Computer proficiency and lean skills.
• Documented manufacturing education/training.
