POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6:00AM – 2:30PM) Machinist I, II based in Indianapolis, IN. The Machinist I,II is responsible for performing machine setups, tool changes, and adjustments as necessary.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $18.56/hr - $27.00/hr plus a .75 shift differential and mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Operate the machine according to standard operating instructions (SOP)
• Document and inspect quality of work per Quality Assurance Inspection Procedure (QAIP)
• Use micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and comparators
• Understand work orders and routings
• Follow all environmental, health, & safety (EHS) policies and procedures including use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Perform daily 5S/housekeeping

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Understanding of shop math & blueprint reading/comprehension, Geometric Dimensional and Tolerance (GD&T)
• Ability to perform advanced quality inspections
• Professional communication skills

WHAT WE PREFER

• SAP or Enterprise system knowledge
• Computer proficiency and lean skills
• Documented manufacturing education/training
