Atlantic Valve Services (AVS) in Swedesboro, NJ is seeking a Machinist II to support repair, restoration, and precision machining of valve components used in power, pharmaceutical, chemical, and industrial markets.

You will operate manual machines, align parts to tight tolerances, and contribute to safe, reliable equipment maintenance. Significant overtime is available during outage seasons, with a strong focus on quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of machining experience.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/blueprints.
• Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators).
• Commitment to quality workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual machine shop equipment including engine lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and related machines.
• Machine new parts from bar stock and raw castings.
• Restore damaged valve bodies, trim components, and related equipment to required tolerances.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Perform precise measurements and maintain tolerances throughout operations.
• Rework and repair components to meet customer requirements.
• Keep a clean and safe work environment and document inspections.
