Job summary

Precision Fuzing and Sensors in Middletown, CT is seeking a General Machinist II to operate CNC and manual equipment, read blueprints, set up machines, and perform in-process inspection. The role emphasizes maintaining close tolerances and quality, under supervision with room for growth.

Qualifications

1+ year related experience required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Use of elementary geometry, algebra and trigonometric principles with drawings, specs, charts and tables
Ability to use precision measuring tools and instruments
Familiarity with shop practices, inspection and safety

Responsibilities

Perform simple machining operations under close tolerances using blueprints and instructions
Operate CNC machines for a simple series of operations
Adjust machine calibrations, console settings, feed and tooling as directed
Make minor adjustments to offsets and tooling on pre-programmed routines
Set up and operate manual milling, lathe, drill and hand screw machines
Assist in deburring and maintain a clean safe work area
Inspect own work using hand tools and measuring instruments
Maintain quality with minimal scrap and report defects to supervisor
Support Lean initiatives to improve cost, throughput and quality
Provide timely updates to management and other departments
