Qualifications

• Ability to communicate on technical issues.
• Ability to record tool specifications for quality and performance purposes
• Must be able to read and interpret charts, drawings and blueprints
• Must be able to read, interpret and follow work instructions
• Proactive coordination with coworkers and supervisors to maintain peak productivity
• Ability to handle higher productivity levels with more detailed repair projects
• Works independently using best judgment with minimum supervision

Responsibilities

• Crane operations, lifting, holding and indicate parts
• Operate machine tools such as lathes to produce metal parts.
• Check and review accuracy of work against written blueprints and specifications
• Calculate where to cut and bore
• Determine how much material to remove
• Monitor and control feed rate and speed
• Plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations
• Ensure work piece is properly lubricated and/or cooled
• Replacement of dull cutting tools
• General clean up and maintenance of work area
• Makes minor mechanical adjustments to equipment and assist maintenance manager with any major equipment repairs
• Other duties as assigned
