Job summary

Chromalox is seeking an experienced Machinist II to produce high-quality components, set up CNC mills and lathes, and interpret blueprints. You will work within a team that values quality workmanship and continuous improvement.

This role offers day and swing shifts, overtime opportunities, and benefits starting on day one. You will read engineering drawings, select tooling, perform machine adjustments, and inspect parts using precision instruments to maintain tolerances.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong blueprint-reading and dimensional inspection skills.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to perform machine setups and make machining adjustments as needed.
  • Understanding of shop mathematics, tolerances, and machining principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Selecting tooling, fixtures, and work-holding solutions for efficient and accurate machining.
  • Performing machine adjustments and making process corrections to maintain tolerances.
  • Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Assisting with troubleshooting machining and production issues.
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance and supporting TPM initiatives.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Supporting continuous improvement efforts and helping train less experienced team members.
  • Collaborating with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve processes and product performance.
