Job summary

Danfoss in the United States (Arkansas) is seeking a Machinist II to operate CNC machines and meet production targets with a focus on quality and safety.

The role requires interpreting programming and setup data, setting up tooling, and verifying tool paths to maintain tight tolerances. It includes potential work with Okuma, Makino, and Mazak machines and a commitment to continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  • Interpret programming, operational data, and setup instructions to define tooling arrangements, fixtures, and material clamping methods.
  • Set up, calibrate, adjust, and operate CNC machine tools to perform progressive machining operations to exact tolerances, including boring, milling, drilling, facing, threading, and occasional contouring/profiling.
  • Install, align, and secure tooling, fixtures, and workpieces; establish reference points, set stops, and ensure proper support and clamping when fixtures are not available.
  • Load and verify CNC programs, manually cycle machines to validate tooling sequences, clearances, speeds, feeds, and work alignment, making adjustments to correct deviations from specifications.
  • Monitor and maintain machine settings throughout production to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with engineering and manufacturing requirements.
  • As required, operate heat-treating furnaces, laser/electron beam welding equipment, and electro-nickel-plating systems in accordance with prescribed procedures, specifications, and engineering requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) to two (2) years’ experience working in a manufacturing or similar environment
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience operating CNC machines
  • Previous experience with Okuma, Makino, and Mazak style machines
  • Previous experience using precise measurement tools (gauges, calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger dexterity, handle, or feel objects tools or controls, turn/twist, bend at waist, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
