Job summary

CooperSurgical is seeking a Machinist II at our Stafford, TX facility to set up, operate, and optimize CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components. This on-site contract role spans 6+ months and requires strong proficiency with G- and M-code programming and experience delivering high-precision parts.

You'll lead process improvements, troubleshoot complex setups, mentor junior machinists, and maintain safety and documentation standards while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

Scope:

Machinist II is responsible for independently setting up, operating, and optimizing CNC machining processes to produce precision components. This role requires advanced knowledge of machining practices, strong G- and M-code proficiency, and the ability to lead process improvements and mentor junior machinists

Job Summary:

Perform complex setups on CNC mills/lathes, interpret advanced engineering drawings, optimize machining offsets or work coordinates, and ensure part quality through rigorous inspection. Machinists II are expected to lead troubleshooting efforts, support programming activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining safety and documentation standards.
