Job summary

Nordson Industrial Coating Solutions is seeking an experienced CNC machinist to join our team. You will follow work instructions, set up tools, and operate CNC equipment for defined runs with limited supervision.

Reliable candidates will read blueprints, interpret GD&T, use calipers and micrometers, and maintain a safe, organized workspace while supporting production metrics.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC equipment and setting up tools for defined production runs.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T for part inspection.

Responsibilities

• Follow established work instructions and company procedures to ensure safe, quality production.
• Set up tool registers, mills, lathes, drills, Bridgeport, switches, offsets, and intermediate programming CNC equipment for defined runs with limited supervision.
• Run and set up Swiss tool machines and twin spindle lathes
• Run and set up pallet changers and horizontal mills and vertical mills.
• Maintain routine machinery maintenance and perform visual tests on worn parts; inventory replacement parts.
• Understand production flow and its impact on plant metrics and customers.
• Interpret blueprints and title blocks with GD&T; identify key characteristics.
• Utilize calipers, gauges, indicators, and micrometers for measurement.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Cross-train on other equipment as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to set up tool registers, mills, lathes, drills, Bridgeport, switches, offsets, and intermediate programming CNC computerized equipment for defined runs with limited supervision or assistance.
• Ability to run and set up Swiss tool machines and twin spindle lathes
• Ability to run and set up pallet changers and horizontal mills and vertical mills.
• Responsible for routine machinery maintenance and running visual tests on broken or worn parts while keeping inventory of machine replacement parts.
• Understands flow of production and how their production affects plant metrics and customers.
• Fluent and well versed in blueprint interpretation and title block GD&T and capable of determining key and critical characteristics.
• Ability to utilize calipers, gauges, indicators, micrometers, and other hand tools related to the occupation.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines in the assembly process.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Cross-train to on other equipment as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
