Our products and technologies require an extraordinary team – a team that will mold tomorrow’s technologies while deploying today’s best. We are an intrinsically motivated team that has a passion for solving problems and empowering each other every day to develop our skills, knowing that there is always room for growth.

You will be part of a fast-paced, focused, and highly cohesive machining team. You will contribute to machining critical hardware and improving the impact that internal machining has on Ursa Major’s knowledge base and engine programs. Ursa Major Technologies seeks to be the best at what we do, and a drive for rapid learning and improvement is expected of the entire team. You will report to the Operations Team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Operate CNC equipment to machine critical, tight-tolerance aerospace components
  2. Run & maintain equipment including 3 and 5 axis mills, mill-turning machines, and live tooling equipped lathes
  3. Produce & inspect prototype, R&D, and one-off parts
  4. Support high paced output of development hardware, reworks, and part modifications
  5. Assistance with all shop related operations including tooling & work holding creation & procurement, equipment cleaning & maintenance, etc.
Required Qualifications:
  1. 5+ years experience in a machining environment
  2. Experience operating CNC equipment (lathe or mill)
  3. Demonstrated critical thinker with attention to detail
Desired Experience:
  1. General understanding of GD&T
  2. Experience in an aerospace machining environment is a plus
  3. Familiar with common inspection tools and how to use them
  4. General understanding of machining strategies and tooling
