Job summary

Motion Industries in Houston, TX seeks a skilled machinist to set up, operate, and adjust conventional or automatic machines such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, and related equipment. You will work from drawings to produce replacement and new parts with ordinary tolerances, ensuring quality through precise measurement.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of metals and measurements, and experience with CAD/CAM software.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Knowledge of metals and measurements used in machining required.
Knowledge of machinist, CAD and CAM software required.
Mathematics knowledge and its application required.
Ability to operate and learn piranha, metal shear, and metal brakes.
Must be eligible to participate in the DoD Skillbridge program.

Responsibilities

Machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
Measure and test parts with precision instruments to ensure conformance to specs.
Monitor machine feeds/speeds and maintain tools in good condition.
Study drawings and engineering information to determine operation sequences.
Install or assemble parts, fixtures, or tooling as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
