Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY seeks a skilled Machinist to setup and operate CNC and manual machine tools, develop fixtures, and fabricate parts for educational and research projects.

The role includes training students, designing tooling, and contributing to prototype fabrication. A High School Diploma is required; Journeyman or higher is preferred. This is a hands-on position with room for growth within a dynamic university shop.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or equivalent; mechanical aptitude.
• Journeyman certificate in machine trades preferred; Associate degree optional.
• 0–2 years minimal experience; 5+ years preferred in machine trades.

Responsabilidades

• Operate manual lathes and mills, selecting tooling, speeds and feeds.
• Program, operate and maintain CNC lathes and machine centers; develop G-code.
• Develop fixtures and tooling to ensure stable machining operations.
• Design and fabricate machinery, tooling, fixtures using CAD models and prints.
• Train students and staff on safe, basic machine tool operation.
