Clarkson University is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate standard metalworking tools, hand tools, and CNC equipment. The role involves fabricating mechanical parts, teaching tool operation, and translating ideas into working models for education and research.

You will work with students and staff in a clean machine shop, with a focus on precision, safety, and independent judgment. The position may be 10 or 12 months, compensation ranges per hour with excellent benefits.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrate Mechanical Aptitude.
• Associate degree with Journeyman certificate in machine trades preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Operate manual lathes and mills.
• Program, operate and maintain CNC lathes and machine centers.
• Develop fixtures for stable machining operations.
• Read prints and use inspection tools (calipers, micrometers).
• Work with faculty, staff and students on designing and fabricating parts.
• Instruct students in safe operation of machine tools.
