Job summary

Nordson Corporation in Kentucky is seeking a skilled machinist to assemble, set up, and maintain precision tooling in a fast-paced production environment.

You will read blueprints, use calipers and micrometers, follow safety procedures, and cross-train on multiple machines, with opportunities for apprenticeship pathways.

Qualifications

• Certificate in machine shop technology or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience preferred, or a combination of internship and schooling.
• A recognized apprenticeship may be required.

Responsibilities

• Follow established assembly procedures to ensure quality production.
• Understand and set up tool registers, mills, lathes, drills, and CNC program editing for defined runs.
• Perform routine machinery maintenance and visual tests on parts; maintain inventory of replacement parts.
• Use calipers, gauges, indicators, and micrometers for inspection and measurement.
• Read blueprints and determine critical values.
• Follow safety procedures in the assembly process.
• Keep a clean and organized work environment.
• Cross-train on other equipment as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow establishedwork instructions and companyprocedures to ensuresafe,quality production.

• Understand andset up tool registers,mills,lathes,drills,Bridgeport, switches,offsets,andCNCprogramediting.computerized equipment for defined runs.

• Responsible for routine machinery maintenance and running visual tests on broken or worn parts while keeping inventory of machine replacement parts.

• Ability toutilizecalipers, gauges,indicators, micrometers, and other hand tools related to the occupation.

• Intermediate ability to read blueprints anddeterminecritical values.

• Follow safety procedures and guidelines in the assembly process.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

• Cross-traintoonother equipmentas needed.

• Other duties as assigned.
