Job summary

EPITEC in Dearborn, MI is seeking a hands-on prototype automotive painter for a 1-year contract onsite. You will drive the finishing process from body prep to color/finish matching on prototype vehicles and components, collaborating with design, engineering and fabrication teams while designs are still evolving.

The role requires an associate degree and 3+ years in automotive painting for rapid prototypes, with strong skills in body prep, masking, sanding, priming, cut and buff, and achieving

Responsibilities

This is a hands-on prototype automotive painting and body-prep position. The person will take prototype vehicles or components through the finishing process, including body preparation, painting, color/finish matching, defect correction, cutting, buffing, and polishing. This is not just a production spray-painter position. Is looking for someone who has worked on rapid prototypes and can collaborate with design, engineering, and fabrication teams while vehicle designs are still evolving.
