Machinist, Engine Lathe - 1st, 2nd & 3rd

Job Requirements:

• Set up, adjust, and operate various sizes and types of engine lathes, pullbores, trepan, and push boring machines.
• Operate multiple machines simultaneously.
• Determine setups to ensure concentricity within close tolerances over considerable lengths.
• Select speeds, feeds, and tooling; plan operational sequences to meet dimensional and finish requirements.
• Improvise and grind tooling for different materials and conditions.
• Assist in machine setups and make adjustments based on operational issues.
• Check own work and assist in tooling development for special purposes.
• Perform machine clean-outs as needed.

Requirements:

• Ability to work from blueprints and specifications.
• Solid understanding of shop math.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of machining practices and setups.
• 1-3 years of machining experience.
• Familiarity with cranes and lifting devices.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
